Before joining Orbis, Maria was a Director at Cerner Corporation, where she held P&L responsibility for a life sciences business unit that provided drug-safety software and services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. Maria credits much of her success to her experience as an environmental engineer with Camp Dresser & McKee, a Kauffman Entrepreneur intern, a geotech engineer, and a fifth-generation Kansas wheat farmer. Maria’s education includes an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she was a 2003 Mike and Karen Herman Family Fellow for Women in Entrepreneurship, an M.S. in engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. in engineering from Kansas State University.
