His career started as a traffic engineer in the public sector. Frustrated with the tools available to traffic engineers and driven by a passion to improve traffic flow, Dr. Chandra decided to create the solution. He invented InSync, a plug-and-play system that uses artificial intelligence to enable traffic signals to adapt to actual traffic demand in real-time. By automating signal optimization, InSync cuts travel times in half for motorists and reduces car crashes by up to one-third. Currently, InSync is the solution of choice for more than 750 intersections in 21 states. Rhythm Engineering has received more than a dozen awards for its innovation, and was recently listed on the Inc. 500 as the 64thfastest growing private company in the U.S. In 2012, Reggie released his first book, Shades of Green: Why Traffic Signals Frustrate You and What You Can Do to Fix Them.
