ERIK LOGAN

Chief Executive Officer World Surf League

Erik Logan is the Chief Executive Officer of the World Surf League (WSL), the global home of surfing. In this role, Logan oversees all business operations of the League, including Tours and Competition, which operates more than 180 global competitions each year; WSL WaveCo, home of the world's largest high-performance, human-made wave; and WSL Studios, an independent producer of unscripted and scripted projects.

Logan’s decades of international business and media experience continue to transform the WSL as a world-class sports media, live events, and experiences company. Since joining the organization in February 2019, Logan revamped the league’s live broadcasts, and led the development of off-platform content, including the hit Apple TV+ Series, Make or Break, ABC’s The Ultimate Surfer, and the Emmy Award-Winning 24/7: Kelly Slater on HBO.

Before joining the WSL, Logan served as President of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and Executive Vice President at Harpo Studios. Logan positioned the company as the #1 cable network in its target demographic, with 5 of the top 20 shows in scripted cable programs for women ages 25-54, more than any other cable network. Before OWN, Logan was Executive Vice President, Programming and Broadcast Operations for XM Satellite Radio, where he built the subscriber base to over nine million subscribers, negotiated partnerships, and managed day-to-day relationships with major content providers, including Major League Baseball, PGA Tour, CNN, Clear Channel Communications, and Fox News. Before joining XM, Logan also served as President of Programming for Citadel Broadcasting and served for over a decade at CBS/Infinity Broadcasting in various roles, including Vice President of Programming.

Logan is based in the United States in the WSL’s Santa Monica, California office. He is an avid waterman; you can catch him in the ocean most mornings in Manhattan Beach.
